RE: Which is the better battery configiration

I tried two 12 volts, but that was not enough juice to run the inverter...the third one fixed that.

RE: Which is the better battery configiration

Call it what you like, my three 12 volt AGMs do fine on an all electric 45' coach if you do very little dry camping...we do virtually none.

RE: Which is the better battery configiration

One often forgot about fact is that the 12v are very much lighter than the 6 volts. I went from 8 six volts to three 12 volts (all AGM) and my total weight went down a bit over 300 lbs.

RE: Reasonably decent towed vehicles for a Class A

...CRV up to 2014 can be towed. The 2014 can be towed as well. All CRVs (FWD and AWD) can be towed four down. Flat towing also involves a tow bar, base plate, aux brake, lights and possible charging line... I'm towing my second CRV, great tow vehicles.

RE: Ready to purchase 2024 chevy Equinox Primer for Flat towing

Get an owner's manual and very carefully read the directions on how to tow four down. You will get lots of advice from salesmen, other owners, etc, but the owner's manual is the where the facts are located.

RE: Towing a toad

If you don't want the size and weight of a Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk or a Grand Cherokee (4x4 wi6th proper transmission) are factory setup to tow. Add the Blue Ox and M&G or Air Force One braking system and you are good to go. It takes less than 5 minutes to hook up and be ready to drive away. It takes even less time to disconnect. I have done the dolly thing and will never go back. ...or a Honda CRV, 2014 or earlier. I've towed two CRVs both with Blue Ox, great combination.

RE: Allison transmission fluid change interval.

Have the fluid tested. Agree. If it tests good, and continues to test good, it is good until it does not meet the parameters on the test sheet. Here's who I use every year: https://jglubricantservices.com/

RE: Kwikee Steps Won't Extend

Be sure the steps are well lubricated. My manual says to lube them every month.

RE: Oops… Went to buy Newmar then saw a Newell.

..I think I remember somewhere along the line that one rub against the Newell was its weight... Yes very heavy, over 60k GVWR.

RE: Issues with Premier Freightliner

I avoid my Freightliner dealer if at all possible. The last time I used them, I called a day ahead and asked if they could change the four fuel filters the next day (I never drop it and leave it), the lady said yes. So I got there when they opened, helped them put the slide out to access the engine, showed them where to plug in their computer, waited all day in the waiting room and left at 4:45. Their rate, couple of years ago, was $150/hour, the bill was over $400 including a 10% charge for shop fees. I have since found a mom and pop who take appointments, do it in one hour for a third of that cost and encourage me to stay in the shop with the coach.

RE: What's this thing really worth?

Ditto on the roof comments. So far you've probably found only some of the roof damage...lots can be hiding where you can't see it.
